A Refreshing Perspective
I bring a diverse range of lived experience to my counselling practice. Before becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I worked as a teacher, spent time in the fitness industry, and built a career in construction. I’ve lived throughout Western Canada and overseas, experiences that have broadened my worldview and continue to inform my work. Outside of counselling, I enjoy hiking with my family, playing chess, and mountain biking.
I view counselling as a collaborative space where I offer compassion and a fresh perspective. Navigating change, complex decisions, or intense emotions can be challenging, and my goal is to create an environment that fosters calm, validation, and, when appropriate, a sense of humour. I believe our emotions and choices are often deeply connected to our past experiences, and therapy can help bring greater awareness to these internal processes.
In my work with individuals and couples, I support clients in developing insight and agency, helping them move toward more intentional and meaningful choices in the present. My therapeutic approach is eclectic; I often integrate experiential modalities such as Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) with cognitive approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
