A Refreshing Perspective
I bring a broad range of real‑world experience to my counselling practice. Before becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I worked as a teacher, spent years in the fitness industry, and built a career in construction. I’ve lived throughout Western Canada and overseas, experiences that have shaped my perspective and continue to guide the way I work. Outside the office, I enjoy hiking with my family, playing chess, and getting out on my mountain bike.
I see counselling as a collaborative space where I offer steady support, honest reflection, and a grounded presence. Working through change, tough decisions, or strong emotions can be challenging, and my aim is to create an environment that brings clarity, calm, and—when it fits—a bit of humour. I believe our emotions and choices are often tied to our past experiences, and therapy can help us understand these patterns and navigate them more effectively.
In my work with individuals and couples, I help clients build insight and confidence so they can make more intentional and meaningful choices in the present. My therapeutic approach is eclectic; I often blend experiential modalities like Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) with cognitive approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
