Parking at our Downtown Office

We regret that the city of Nanaimo is now charging for parking in much of the downtown core, including in front of our Wallace Street office.

The system (Hotspot) that the city has put in place for the collection of fees can be convenient for some, but technically complicated for others who are perhaps less savvy.

We've put this page together to hopefully help out with some suggestions and shortcuts.

Tip: be sure to show up a bit early so you'll have sufficient time to find a free spot available up either Franklyn or Albert Street (there are free 2 hour spots one block up each of those streets, and on other streets further afield).

Parking is payable by webform or app.  The webform is easier to use, and can be accessed by QR codes found on Wallace Street (look for the green signs on the lamp posts).

If you'd prefer to pay from your car or arrange payment for someone else, simply click this button and you'll be taken to the Hotspot parking link for this location.

You'll need to enter your license plate number, select the amount of time, and proceed to payment.

Hotspot Parking App

Another choice is to download the Hotspot Parking App.  The upside is that it'll be easier to use in the future.  The downside is that it'll take a bit of setup and you'll have to prepay (minimum $10).  We also find the interface a bit clunky to use the first time.  To download, click on the download links below.
